SASKİ general director Rüstem Keleş expressed that the snowfall throughout the city has affected the quality of drinking water resources and said “Thank God our city keeps getting enough precipitation. Rainy months are going plentiful both in our country and our city. It makes us very happy that the seasonal precipitation keeps falling which has a great role on the future of our drinking water resources”. Rüstem Keleş underlined that the lake level is rising along with the precipitation and stated “Sapanca Lake keeps rising with the rainfall and snowfall in the region. The precipitation in charge decreases the pooling effect in the lake and makes a circulation of water. The depth of the lake is at 31.77 meters at the moment. Towards the end of the month we assume the lake will going to reach the maximum level of 32.18 meters. When the lake reaches the maximum level, the gates of the Çark River are going to be opened to renew the quality of the lake”.
